(Federal Postal Coalition)

Last week the Federal-Postal Alliance, which AFSCME is a part of, sent a letter to all Members of the House of Representatives urging them to vote against Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryans proposed Fiscal Year 2012 Concurrent Resolution on the budget.

The letter states: The assumptions in the resolution proposing to freeze federal employee pay for five years, cut the workforce by 10 percent, and require employees to significantly increase their contributions to the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund are unfair and unreasonable, even in the current budget atmosphere.

Unfortunately the bill passed so the battle now moves to the Senate where it has less support. To read the entire letter, click here.
